Continuous Live View & Record — by PixilLab
Last updated: July 9, 2026

Summary

Your video never leaves your device. We do not see your cameras, your recordings, or your Ring.com password. The only information that reaches our servers is the email address and activation code you type into the extension, and we use it for one purpose: to check whether your license is valid.

Chrome also keeps a copy of that license in your Chrome profile, so it comes back on its own if you reinstall the extension or sign in to Chrome on another computer. That copy is handled by Chrome, not by us.

What the extension does on your device

The extension runs only on account.ring.com. It keeps the live view from pausing when you switch tabs, lets you open a camera in a floating Picture-in-Picture window, and can record the live stream. Video is processed entirely inside your browser. Recordings are written straight to a "Ring Video" folder in your own Downloads directory. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Your Ring.com account

We never ask for, receive, or store your Ring.com credentials. You sign in on the official Ring.com website exactly as you normally would, and the extension simply operates on the page you are already signed in to.

What we collect, and why

To run the free trial and to verify a paid license, the extension sends the following to our licensing server at pixillab.com:

We store, against that email address: the trial start date, the license expiry date, the activation code, and the name supplied by PayPal if you purchase a license. That is the whole record. We do not collect browsing history, camera names, video, screenshots, analytics, or any advertising identifier.

Payments

Purchases are handled by PayPal. We never see or store your card or bank details. PayPal tells us that a payment succeeded and passes us the buyer’s name and email so that an activation code can be issued and emailed to you. PayPal’s own privacy policy governs how PayPal handles your data.

Emails we send

We email you your activation code after purchase, and again if you ask us to resend it. We do not send marketing email and we do not sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone.

Data retention and deletion

Your license record is kept for as long as the license is active, so that the extension can verify it. You can remove the stored license at any time using the Remove license link inside the app; this clears it from your browser and from your Chrome profile immediately. Uninstalling the extension does not clear the Chrome profile copy, so use Remove license first if you want both gone. To have your record deleted from our server as well, email info@pixillab.com and we will remove it.

Permissions the extension requests

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it, and the current version will always be published here.

Works with your Ring account — here is exactly what you get.
Continuous live view works without a Ring subscription. Ring ends each Live View session on its own; we start it again automatically, so your camera keeps streaming around the clock.
Recording works without a Ring subscription — we record in your browser, straight to your own computer.
Picture-in-Picture works without a Ring subscription.
Watching more than one camera at once on Ring.com requires a Ring subscription (Ring’s own Multi-Cam Live View — no extension can unlock it).
One interruption we cannot prevent: when your Ring.com sign-in expires, Ring asks you to sign in again, and live view stops until you do.
